Kate (Mary) Fisher

Kate (Mary) Fisher is a Senior Research Scientist with a Federally Funded Research and Development Center conducting operations research for the U.S. Department of Defense. She is currently on assignment as Strategy and Force Development Senior Analytic Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. Kate grew up in an Army family with both of her parents serving in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. After settling in the Northern Virginia area in the early 1990s, she and her three siblings all played for local travel soccer clubs, including the Gunston Soccer Club where Kate played for Coach Clyde Watson, as well as their high school teams. Kate has coached recreational and travel soccer teams and served as a certified referee. Together with her husband, Max, she has four children ages 8 to 18 who previously played or currently play in the MYS recreational, Juniors, ECNL Regional League, and ECNL programs. She has served in a variety of volunteer roles including as the 2004 Boys ECNL Team Admin from the first year of the program through the players’ senior year of high school. Kate holds a B.S. and a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and an M.S. from Texas A&M University and brings experience in strategy development and implementation, operations research, and stakeholder engagement.
