McLean Youth Soccer provides Travel level players will specific additional training opportunities throughout the seasonal year including Goalkeeper Training, MPS Pre-Season Camp, MPS Travel Training, Travel Team Skills, and winter outdoor Performance Travel Training for field and goalkeepers. Performance Travel Training - Winter
This exciting outdoor winter program, run by MYS professional technical staff, is designed for current boys and girls travel program players ages U9-U15 to assist in developing their technical skills and tactical awareness of the game. The sessions will help our young athletes with the mastery of the ball through fun, challenging and constant decision making activities. Not only they will develop their skills but also their decision making process on the pitch as well. Players who participate will improve their coordination, body control, speed of thoughts, agility, and most importantly field awareness.
One coed OUTDOOR session per week on Mondays
Each sessions runs 75 min
Focus of training:
Transition Defense to Attack
Transition Attack to Defense
**Maximum of 100 current travel players can register. Coaches will NOT be working with their own age groups.**

Future U9 Travel Training - Spring 2021
Our MYS professional coaching staff is excited to offer additional, supplemental U8 Only (for players born in 2013) Outdoor Training during the Spring season for current Juniors Program players and all U8 Recreation players who may be interested. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare for the 2021-2022 U9 Travel Team tryouts. Elite Speed, Agility & Strength Training - Fall 2021
NEW THIS FALL
Our new Speed, Agility & Strength training program is for elite athletes interested in improving their on-field performance through increased athleticism. Focusing on the most up to date sports performance. The ESASP Speed and Agility programming will focus on proper form and technique , power and acceleration, teaching and implementing correct jumping and landing techniques and injury prevention. Using resistance training and resistance strength that is utilized by professional soccer players all over the globe.
All sessions are run by McLean Travel Coach Scott Shoemaker whose credentials include:
- ACE Certified Personal Trainer
- EXOS Performance Specialist Certification
- United Soccer Coaches Special Topics Diploma (Player Health, Fitness, and Safety)
- Explosive Performance Mentorship
- Smarterteam Training Continued Education
- US Soccer C License
- United Soccer Coaches National Diploma
- First Aid/CPR Certification
For Travel Player ages 12-16 (Green/White/Gold/Silver team players) -
- 6 sessions on Fridays from 7:00-8:00 pm at Lewinsville Park
- Maximum 20 players per session
- Cost per player: $175.00
- Dates: September 17, 24, October 1, 8, 15, 22
Travel Team Skills Training - Fall 2021
For travel teams, ages U13-U16, whose club fees do not include the Monday Night MPS Training (teams designated with the colors White and Gold), MYS offers OPTIONAL Travel Training for the fall and spring seasons. This training is in addition to your team's regular practices and must be paid for separately of team registration for a fee of $150 per player.
If at least 12 players from a team have registered, the sessions will be scheduled for the team, and the team will be notified by the start date. If there are not sufficient players registered, the session will be canceled and your fees will be refunded.

The sessions will help our goalkeepers master of the art of goalkeeping through fun, challenging and constant decision making activities. They will develop their technique and also their decision making process on the pitch as well. Each sessions runs 75 min

Week 1 & 2 - "The cross"
Week 3 & 4 - "The cutback"

Week 7 & 8 - "The through ball"
All types of these match situations above will be addressed: how to execute the technique, prepare and make the correct decisions
