Human Resources Consultant

As MYS expands, we are seeking an experienced HR Consultant to support our operational growth and ensure compliance with employment best practices. This is a part-time, contract based role that will be hybrid/remote from McLean, VA.

Job Summary

The HR Consultant will play a key role in optimizing HR policies, ensuring legal compliance, and fostering a professional, positive work culture within the club. This role will involve working with coaches, administrative staff, and volunteers to streamline HR processes and enhance staff engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Policy & Compliance: Develop, review, and implement HR policies to ensure alignment with employment laws and club values.

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in hiring qualified coaches, staff, and volunteers while establishing a smooth onboarding process.

  • Employee Relations: Address HR-related concerns, mediate conflicts, and foster a supportive work environment.

  • Performance Management: Support staff evaluations, feedback mechanisms, and professional development programs.

  • Payroll & Benefits Support: Advise on compensation structures, payroll processes, and benefits administration.

  • Risk Management & Safety: Ensure compliance with background checks, child safety regulations, and workplace standards.

  • HR Training & Development: Conduct training on HR best practices, diversity and inclusion, and workplace ethics.

  • HR Systems & Documentation: Maintain accurate records and recommend HR software/tools for efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

    • 3+ years of HR experience preferably in sports organizations, nonprofits, or youth programs.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, hiring practices, and employee relations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a diverse team.

  • Passion for youth sports and understanding of the sports industry is a plus.

Travel Coach Positions

McLean Youth Soccer is seeking enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated coaches to join our team and help shape the future of the sport.At MYS, we are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and excellence. Our mission is to develop players at all levels and positively impact our community through the game.

Position Overview:
We are looking for coaches to lead and assist across various age groups and skill levels, from recreational to elite travel teams. Coaches will:

  • Plan and lead engaging, development-focused training sessions.
  • Mentor players on and off the field, emphasizing skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to uphold club values and objectives.

What We're Looking For:

  • Coaching experience and soccer knowledge.
  • USSF coaching license or equivalent (or a willingness to obtain one).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for working with and inspiring young athletes.

Recreation Trainers

MYS is looking to hire Recreation Trainers. The Recreation Trainer is responsible for leading and organizing soccer training sessions for young players in a recreational setting. The trainer will implement age-appropriate soccer activities to help players develop their skills and love for the game. The trainer will also be responsible for maintaining a positive and supportive environment, as well as assisting volunteers with their coaching development. All applicants must be 16 years or older, legally authorized to work in the United States, and hold a minimum United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Grassroots (4v4, 7v7) Coaching License or higher.
