The ribbon-cutting ceremony and festival to celebrate the grand opening of the new turf surface at the Holladay Field on Saturday was a huge success! MYS and the Fairfax County Parks Authority recognized their partnership in bringing this project to completion, the support of Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust and the Park Authority Board, and applauded the amazing contributions by Leidos CEO Roger Krone and Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba of the United Arab Emirates.
Hundreds of members came out in the beautiful weather to the celebrate and enjoy the inflatable games, face painting, balloon sculptures, Roosteritto food truck, and Leidos ice cream truck. Many also got the chance to meet and get autographs from Paralympic Gold Medal swimmer Jessica Long, Captain of the NWSL Washington Spirit and US Women’s National team Andi Sullivan, and D.C. United mascot Talon.
Thank you to all who were in attendance – we can’t wait to see our players and all in the community to enjoy the new field!
