Omid Namazi joins McLean Youth Soccer as the Boys Technical Director starting now with preparation for the 2024-2025 season. Omid most recently served as the Interim Head Coach and Assistant Coach at Hartford Athletic. During his professional career he has held several coaching positions including Head Coach for FC Helsignor Denmark, Zob Ahan FC Iran, US U-18 Men’s National Team, Chicago Red Stars, and Head Coach and Vice President of Soccer Operations for NJ Ironmen and San Diego Spirit. He was named MISL Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and he played on the 1990 Championship Maryland Bays and 1988 Championship Washington Diplomats teams. Omid was the 2000 MISL Defender of the Year and a member of the first class to obtain a USSF Pro License in 2016. Omid holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from West Virginia University.
