McLean Youth Soccer (MYS) is excited to announce a sponsorship renewal with Leidos, a FORTUNE® 500 innovation company, headquartered in Reston, Virginia. This three-year renewal will keep Leidos as the official jersey front sponsor for the Recreation Program.

Congratulations to our 2013 Girls Green team and Coach Danny Butler for finishing as the USYS Virginia State Cup Champions! And to MYS player’s Alia Frontin named Most Valuable Player and Adele Allen named Best Defensive Player in the U11 Girls age group. 

MYS Technical Director John Harkes returns to youth soccer after making history as the first American to play in the English Premier League, two World Cup appearances, selection to the National Soccer Hall of Fame, MLS Cup and U.S. Open Cup championships with D.C. United, and USL coaching stints with FC Cincinnati and Greenville Triumph.

“If a kid doesn’t have transportation to a program, it doesn’t matter if they can afford it or not,” says Tim Ryerson.
Wearing one hat, he serves as associate executive director of McLean (Virginia) Youth Soccer. Wearing another, he is the creator of Get on the Bus. Since 2017, has broken down transportation and financial barriers, so boys and girls in suburban Washington can play recreational soccer. The free after-school program also teaches valuable life skills, and good study habits.

MYS is proud to announce that it has been accepted into the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) for the 2024 season. The WPSL returns for its 26th season and is the longest-active women’s soccer league in the U.S. with more than 140 clubs nationwide in 32 states across the county.
