McLean Youth Soccer provides Travel level players with specific additional training opportunities throughout the seasonal year including Goalkeeper Training, MPS Pre-Season Camp, MPS Travel Training, Travel Team Skills, and winter outdoor Advanced Travel Training for field players and goalkeepers.
Future U9 Travel Training - Winter 2025
MYS professional coaching staff offers additional, supplemental U8 ONLY (for players born in 2017) outdoor training during the Winter season for current Juniors Program players and all U8 Recreation players who may be interested. Training sessions will be led by our Juniors Program Director Jose Venegas. The primary training focus will be to develop the player's skills through individual and group training activities which allow players to assert their creativity and build their confidence in taking on players 1v1 and to understand their role in small group training such as 2v2 and 3v3.

Advanced Travel Training - Winter 2025
This outdoor winter program is designed for current boys and girls travel program players ages U9-U14 to assist in developing their technical skills and tactical awareness of the game. The sessions will help our young athletes with the mastery of the ball through fun, challenging, and constant decision making activities. Not only they will develop their skills but also their decision making process on the pitch. Players who participate will improve their coordination, body control, speed of thoughts, agility, and field awareness.

Goalkeeper Advanced Travel Training - Winter 2025
Co-ed outdoor sessions are for current Travel program goalkeepers and have been designed to address the situations that occur during matches. The goalkeepers will be trained in the proper techniques, placed into match-related situations, and challenged to master the art of goalkeeping through fun, constant decision-making activities. They will develop their technical and decision-making process on the pitch and will improve their coordination, body control, speed of thought, agility, and field awareness.

Elite Training Program - NEW for Summer 2024
MYS is offering a NEW Elite Training program this summer for U11-U14 (2014-2011 birth years) players who want to develop a better game awareness and technical foundation in their game. The program is a partnership with ON3 Football and led by MYS Boys Technical Director Omid Namazi, former US Women's National Team and US U18 and U20 Men's National Team coach.
This supplemental training program runs for 8 weeks and is for both current MYS players and players from outside the club. The curriculum is designed with a holistic approach of taking players through mastery of the ball, tactical concepts such as spacing and awareness, simple defending and attacking principles, as well as increasing each player’s physical capacity to be able to sustain a high level of performance during games and training sessions. Players are grouped with their appropriate peers to compete and develop with each session.
