John Harkes is McLean Youth Soccer’s current Technical Advisor and will serve as the club’s Technical Director starting with the 2024-2025 season. John was most recently the Sporting Director and Head Coach of the Greenville Triumph from 2018-2023 where he was named USL One League 2020 Coach of the Year, was the only coach to earn 5 straight playoff berths, and led the teams to several titles including USL League One Champions and Regular Season Champions 2020. John’s professional experience also includes time as the U.S. Men’s Team National Scout, FC Cincinnati Director of Football and Head Coach, New York Red Bulls Assistant Coach, and USSF U-20 National Team Assistant Coach. John’s playing experience includes the U.S. Men’s National Team, DC United, NE Revolution, Sheffield Wednesday, and West Ham. He is a 6 time MLS All-Star, FIFA All-Star, Premier League Goal of the Year Winner, and a FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games participant. John holds the USSF Pro Coaching and USSF A licenses.
